Tacos… mexican food that is unmatched to any other.
Well, here, we are going to talk about “tacos al pastor”and Mr. Taco.
But first, what is “pastor”?
Pastor is sliced pork marinated in a combination of chiles, spices, and achiote. Some people say it comes from the influence of our Lebanese and Turkish immigrants. Honestly, I have no idea but I love those tacos!
Served in corn tortillas with chopped white onion, cilantro, and a slice of pineapple. You can also add a spritz of lime juice or salsa.
I have quite a delicate stomach when it comes to meat as I’m not very resistant to greasy food. So I need to choose places where food is not that “heavy. If that’s not enough, I’m allergic to clove (some places use clove in the meat marinate)… You must be thinking that my stomach is my worst enemy!
When I think of tacos for dinner, its like a fast stop. I don’t want to go to a place where it takes too long to get my food.
Mr. Taco has other options like quesadillas, tortas, as well steak, chicken and rib tacos. For me, hands down, the best menu item is the “Tacos al Pastor”.
Bring some cash to pay, its a local place so the prices are very affordable. Each taco is around $11 to $15 pesos and they do not accept credit cards. Again, I recommend you pay in pesos at this local joint to avoid any surprises with the dollar exchange rate.
Where to find them?
